Some excellent reads I have just loved

This summer I have been reading and reading.  It started with one book, The Goose Girl, by Shannon Hale.  It was recommended by a good friend of mine and I was more intrigued because I went to high school with the author.  She graduated 2 years before me but still, there was a connection.  The Goose Girl was awesome.  I loved the fairy tale aspect and love the fun characters.  By the end I felt like Isi and I were friends.  I quickly continued with the next in the series, Enna Burning.  I loved Enna. Holy crap Batman, I was hooked to these books.  For many reasons but for one, I think because they are about strong women who are realizing their gifts and their greatness.  Another thing I noticed while reading these books was my scripture study was more enjoyable for some reason.  Loco...I know! Of course I had to begin book 3 after finishing Enna Burning.  River Secrets is the most recent one I have finished.  Again, loved it! The main character in this book is a boy named Razo.  He is seriously one cool kid.  Razo is sweet, kind, flirty, loyal and he falls in love (squeal!)

So really friends...these books are fun and entertaining and you can't help but love the characters.  Let me know if you want to borrow one or all of them :)

poetry I love

I love poetry! Especially love poetry! The kind of poetry that make you think of that special person in your world. The kind that makes you want almost melt into them. If you have never read poetry by Pablo Neruda, I highly recommend it. He is magical! Here is one of my fav's:

I Crave Your Mouth, Your Voice, Your Hair

I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day
I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps.

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body,
the sovereign nose of your arrogant face,
I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,

and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight,
hunting for you, for your hot heart,
like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue.
